Theold brain center is where heart rate, breathing, perspiration and many otherbodily functions are controlled automatically by the limbic system. Most of thefunctions in the old brain center are devoted to survival and sex.
Kissingexcites this old brain center and it starts preparing the body to have sex. Ittakes the new brain (i.e. the cerebral cortex where logic and conscious thoughtoccurs) to put the brakes on and stop, or at least have "safe sex".
