This is evident in the proposed Stokes County Schools budget for 2012-13, which proposes to use around $1 million of the school system’s roughly $1.6 million undesignated fund balance to balance the budget instead of cutting staff.
“The primary goal in the development of the budget for 2012-13 was to save the jobs of our employees,” explained Superintendent Ronnie Mendenhall.
