Here are Patti's rough notes from her recent appearance on CNN reading the body language at the Republican and Democratic Conventions.
Romney’s entrance: 14
His face is smiling. But look at how stiff his back is tension rod up through his back and neck. (He looks like he hurt his back.  He is so stiff.  His body is in a straight line. He keeps his lower body away.  Romney doesn’t do what I call the Clinton lean in.  When he came up he would step in and bring his whole body around each person in a symbolic embrace.
He comes out on stage.  His body stiff and hunched as he walks to the podium. He gives a rather stilted hand to heart gesture but it looks like faked humility. He is acting humble and teary-eyed but here he’s not in the moment.  He is acting to the audience rather than connected to them as he comes on stage.
Stiff posture no emotional Body Movement - He is more animated than in past speeches but he still has that stiff body language. (Time code 7:10 and then at more so at 7:38 he is talking about freedom, but his body is locked, arms at sides freedom to build a life)  This video doesn’t show him in close up it goes to the crowd but in the video I first watched his gestures should come up.  Only a handful of gestures in first 15 minutes of speech
Lack of Synchronicity of words and message - you move to illustrate what you are saying make us feel a candidate is sincere. Instead look at Romney 7:38 (This is so wild watch him say “Again when every new wave of immigrant’s looked up to the statue of liberty or knelt down to kiss the shores of freedom.” But in that truly emotional content. He doesn’t move or look up or gesture up as he speaks of freedom. He looks like a little kid who memorized a speech.
First real gesture at Puny gesture - When He says”freedom to build” his arms should have swept up. Instead he stands frozen.  But not just what we wanted but it’s what Americans deserved. (9:05) He gives his first gesture a puny pinched finger gesture down.  This gesture pressing the thumb against index and pointy finger make a point not a weapon like he wants to squeeze emotion out of you and make my point.
Again at (10:45 or so) his words are passionate and his voice has emotion but his body is stiff as he says, “Work harder… Hug your kids a little longer. Again no illustrator gestures. Made it ring false.  As he said, “I wish Obama had succeeded because I wanted America to succeed.” I wished he had shown more passion. “
Lack of connection to audience “With your help we will do something,” He had the opportunity to look at the audience and do an open palm Gathering Gesture gesturing out and bring the gesture back to himself.  Instead he kept his hands frozen at his sides and then at (11:23) you see him do eye shutter and close his mouth. Indicating nonverbally Romney either doesn’t feel we can do something or he does not feel he needs our help. Gestures my country deserves better point down cupped hand.
Great Emotional Moment - Typically in Romney’s speech his voice is very monotone.  In this speech he has more emotion in his voice than any other speech and has some genially emotional moment. One of the few in first 15 minutes, “every day dad gave mom a rose” pointing, and his eyes teared up. My mom and dad were true partners. Should women have less say than our men?  Eyes welled up his voice cracked.

Obama

Comes out claps with the crowd.  It’s not about him.  He smiles and says thank you several times.

Starts his speech real and warm (:49 “Michele I love you so much,” This is a very warm real moment. Uses humor quickly and well as he makes a reference to his daughter’s behavior” Lightens the first moment.
He leans forward opens and grabs the podium “I accept the nomination for president” then he bows slightly forward slightly humble and holding in emotion flat tight smile.
Gestures frequently and comfortably 4:12 he is giving multiple gestures in a sentence. Expressing himself comfortably.  Both fists closed (5:34 or so) double our exports.
Tobacco chew finds much of what he has to say distasteful. Challenges of our time. 8:59 does that over 20 times in the first half of his speech.
Truly emotional 1 Veteran story, He gives me hope. Share that hope with me. I ask you tonight for your vote, his voice is emotional and truly humble.
Great Strength in his gestures “If you believe that new energy can power our future. Ladders of ..” Watch his gestures grow in strength size and frequency.
Best moment in his speech for Democrats (38:09) “Every One gets a fair shot voice cracks with powerful emotions. Deserves his fair share.
Best example of his best gestures. (38:38 or so) He says, “Yes our path is harder. Yes our road is longer but we travel he grasps up as if to ask us to pull ourselves up from our bootstraps.
(39.20 or so) We pull each other up... We draw strength from victories. Gesture strike out hold out, keep our eyes fixed on that distant horizon.
Finger pointing

Clinton is laughing and smiling and very comfortable with the crowd roaring after he is introduced. That is very hard to do.  We are here to nominate a president (long power of the pause) and I GOT one in mind Clinton, First Thank you his voice is warm.   We have got one in mind, Point gestures high and confident finger point, crisp and elevated thumb clasp points slow slide then at 1:26 knowing all the while hands up above waist palms open fingers spread.
1:16 Clinton is strong and confident and in control right out of the gate.
Listen to his voice striking on each word the pausing, “Just six weeks before the elections,
2.06 “A man who believes with no doubt.”
Clinton gestures with almost every single statement. He has over 14 gestures in the first minute and 45 seconds of his speech.  These frequent gesture show he is confident. Sure of his feeling and open to revealing them.
6:14 Watch Clinton use the power of the point as he says, “We know that investments in education and infrastructure they increase new jobs. “
Jennifer Granholm:   Great emotion enthusiasm open posture. She has more fun than any other speaker. Stand- up comic Pep squad Glee club of speakers.  Show us her side. Holds the gesture longer. Waits for the full impact of her words and gestures.
Chris Christie - Enjoys himself out of the box.  New Jersey republican. Likeable and funny Comedy. Emphasis he knows how to punch just the right word.  On the first four minutes he says we have to FIGHT, or I am HER son He gestures naturally and easily, though at times slow and delayed.
Open palm internal state of openness and honesty. In Clinton, Granholm, Ann RomneyClosed palm dominance and authority can you get that for me.

Ann Romney consistent open window body language show. Open palm internal state of openness and honesty.

Patti on HLN Monday, Oct.1st - Weighing in on Arnold Schwarzenegger's Body Language

To contact us Click HERE

Patti analyzes the body language of Arnold Schwarzenegger as he is being interviewed on 60 Minutes.  Patti shares her insights with Kyra Phillips on HLN - Evening Express.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TuGqR7_Q-Y&feature=BFa&list=UUNDJOcYly1uLU5dxr9JFkpQ

1: SOT IN SETUP TO BRING YOU IN
Stalh: I've spent time with you, and you are so much fun and youhave enormous charm. And I have to keep reminding myself about this chapter ofyour life. I do, I have to keep saying, "Wow, he did something that speaksto character." (Arnold just stares at her and doesn’t answer thequestion.)
He is very conflicted. He actually has his eyes tight and focusedin an attack glare and has his mouth in what he thinks is a neutral smile, butis actually an asymmetrical sneer. This means he would like to attack her forsaying he has done something that mars his character, “I am mad but I am tryingto keep that in and smile.”  But after the long frozen expression andsilence he finally nods his head yes and agrees with the statement.
She follows by asking, “Do you have to remind yourself or is italways there.”
We see his most difficult coming to grips with the question. Hedoes a tongue flick, his mouth is dry with stress and he has to moisten it. Hishead comes back slightly. His eyes don’t just shutter close with the badfeelings he pulls his eyes shut so there are visible wrinkles at the cornersand his mouth tightens back and you can see on freeze frame his suppressedcry of anguish. As he comes out of it he tries to pull himself together andhe says, ““It’s always there.”
Only affair 11:14 or so
2: SOT ABOUT MARIA AND THE AFFAIRS
You write that Maria did ask you before theconfrontation with the marriage counselor “Is that your child?" He is nodding his head yes.  So you lied to her. >>Schwarzenegger: “youcan say that.” He has the composed smile that heholds as if for a photograph. Then he uses a tongue eraser to erase what hejust said, He feels he shouldn’t have made that admission.
Stahl: was that the only affair? >> Schwarzenegger:“no, I had others. But, I mean... But, you know, it's something that'sobviously between Maria and me.” >> Stahl: she knew? >> Schwarzenegger:“yea.” >> Stahl: so it's a recurring issue with you. >> Schwarzenegger:”I’mnot perfect.”
To the questions, “So, It is a recurring issue with you?” His eyes narrow down into attack focus and he gives that tight lipped smirk hismouth pulling up on his left and he says, “I am not perfect. “ In a very softvoice as his chin comes down.  I have analyzed his body language for manyyears. His chin usually comes up defiantly in his answers to the media so herewe see his version of an admission that he was bad.
3: SOT ABOUT MISTRESS
8:32 How does money start showing up? >> Schwarzenegger: “I gaveit to her and she knew what it was about.” >> Stahl: did you think that,if you gave her money, that she wouldn't talk, like hush money? >> Schwarzenegger:“I don't think that Mildred was at all into talking. He is honest here. Hedidn’t think Mildred would talk.
19:52:54 you write... Is my child 19:53:17
You write, "I wanted Mildred to continue working in our homebecause I thought I could control the situation better that way." and Iread that to mean that, if she was in the house, you could make sure shewouldn't tell anybody. >> Schwarzenegger: “no” He does an eyeshutter here. . It was more that it would be the wrong thing to do to letthem go and not make her feel like she's being punished when I find out thatthis is my child.
What is very interesting is his response to her asking him sheremained the house keeper was that strange.  He does a lip suppression cueagain focusing to control himself here.  Interesting that then he changesusing a light almost playful voice and partial smile as he talks about thebizarreness of the situation. It reads to me as if he enjoyed the bizarrenessof the situation.  He at some level is enjoying being “cornered by her inthe interview into revealing the bizarreness of it.
4: SOT ABOUT TELLING MARIA HE WAS RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR THEDAY BEFORE ANNOUNCING IT PUBLICLY
You had no idea that this was something she would not want to getback into? >> Schwarzenegger: “no”. As a matter of fact, I was thinkingthat she would say, "Wow that is amazing. Welcome to the club. Wefinally convinced you to be a public servant, just like my entire family."none of that. He seems inauthentic. Hisanswer seems pat.  He does something I call edit emotional event. This is something self-focused people do when their behavior is not metwith the reaction they want.  Here Iwould expect him to describe her emotion. Instead he pauses to edit out herreaction and instead says, none of that.  So, all of a sudden, it cameto a grinding halt and I had to now deal with the drama.

How Did the Candidates Measure Up According to Patti's Tips for the Oct.3rd Presidential Debate?

To contact us Click HERE

Below is a re-cap of Patti's tips for President Obama and Governor Romney for the October 3rd Presidential Debate.  How do you think they did?  Which candidate came out ahead during the debate?According to Patti Wood, Body Language Expert President Obamaneeds to:
1.    I suggest he come out strong, warmand charismatic before he begins speaking and make a strong positive firststatement before he responds to the first questions.
2.    I would coach him and say,“President Obama, smile more as you make strong positive statements. When youspeak about how great and hardworking Americans are and what this country isand has become. “
3.      He needs to relax his voice so he can use it to make usfeel confident in him.
4.      He had great positive emotional moments and gestures inhis DNC speech. He needs to pull some of that emotion and passion into thedebates.
5.      He needs to gesture upwards above the waist as he speaksabout where we can go to symbolically show he wants and can bring us joy andhope.
6.      He also needs and look up and out to the future.
7.      He has started this new bizarre habit that I call “TheTobacco Chew’ where he seems to cleanse his tongue in his mouth, pursing hislips then pushing his lips outwards and down and out as he says distastefulthings  in his DNC.  He did this over 20 times in his DNC speech. He needs to look at that tape and note what motivated him to do that. Stopmaking statements that call forth that emotion and smile more instead.
8.      He is speaking to everyone so he needs to connect morewith the audience, he can’t seem angry with his audience or he’s ashamed of us.
According to Patti Wood, Body Language Expert Governor MittRomney needs to:
1.      Thesingle most important piece of advice for Governor Romney is to show genuinewarm emotion in his voice and body language.
2.      Governor Romney should move more to illustrate what heis saying so that we feel he is speaking sincerely.
3.      Gesturemore over all. He can move and he needs to have more animated andpassionate emotional movement, facial and vocal expression.
4.      He needs to be present in the moment and connect morewith the audience.
5.      He needs to look out at everyone and then speak using the power of the pause.
6.      Make sure his emotions and his nonverbal messages are insync.
7.      Be likable – Let his emotions show.
8.    Heneeds to show nonverbally he is not keeping anything from us.

What to Look for in Tonight’s Vice Presidential Debate, Words and Body Language

NBC news has this article on what to look for in tonight’svice presidential debates. Of course, I will be looking at the body language aswell.  After the presidential debate last week I will be particularlyinterested to see how Vice President Biden, who is known for wining debates easily, will look up against the young whippersnapper, Ryan, who has never debated asthe article says, “…the entire nation watching.” Will Ryan know, as Biden does,to look at the camera as if it is a person? Will he know how to hold his facialcomposure for the close up when Biden is talking? Will Biden gesture and movemore to look young and energetic and will Ryan uses more vocal pauses to lookpowerful?  Ryan is use to speeches wherehe has lots of time and he doesn’t have to compete. Will his face show hisstress during the short timed response? Will he rush or slow down? Will Bidensmirk and show other cues of disrespect for Ryan?

Biden Won the Vice Presidential Debates with Ryan by Using Bully Body Language

To contact us Click HERE

Biden won the Vice Presidential Debates with Ryan byUsing Bully Body Language. Body Language Expert's insights on the debates: Vice President Biden won the debate with Ryan by using bully body language.  Biden’s strong, low baritone voice made himappear authoritative. His large and often downward sweeping gestures as well as his use offist and holding a weapon like pen in his hand made him look like he was beating Congressman Ryandown. In addition his looks of derision, disrespect sneering, smiling andshaking his head and rolling his eyes up , and later in the debate openhostility as he responded  to Ryan’s answers,  as  well as Biden’s  lack of eye contact with Ryan made him looklike he was stronger and energetic. If you look at my blog on what I waslooking for I was interested to see how Biden would deal with the agedifference. Energy and fierceness were his techniques. Democratswere eager for Biden to show the spark of energy and passion the presidentlacked, he did so.

Though many times he was rude, disrespectful andinterrupted.  The way he looked at Ryan with disbelief of hisfoolishness.  Romney won the last debatebeing stronger, louder and longer, interrupting and more passionate. Biden is winning so far using Romney’s technique.
Ryan’s answers were steady and fact filled.  His pulled back body language may appeal to the conservative right. Idid like Ryan’s verbal response later in the debate to all the interruptions“I know you’re under a lot of duress to make up for lost ground, but I thinkpeople would be better served if we don’t interrupt each other,” But, nonverballyRyan should have said this earlier (timing is nonverbal communicator)  and perhaps if he had said it earlier and a bitmore playfully it could have worked. But Biden was roaring by then so Ryanended up sounding and looking like he was the nerd that was getting beatup by the bully standing with a bloody nose and trying to appeal to the bully'slogic.  We did feel sorry for Ryan we sawhim as by far the nicer person, but he was rolled over by Biden.
Here are my rough notes from the beginning
Ryan walked toward Biden and did the politician handshake.
Ryan took a sip of water  to start.
Biden on first question flat suppressed he was smilingbefore the question.
Biden had a strong opening and said, "We will find whoever did this.. "while pointing holding pen.
President my highest priority is to get Bin Laden.
Terrorist points again.Steady hand and clear visions.
Ryan’s voice (paralanguage) is higher, squeaky and less“presidential”  so when he said, “we mournthe loss of …” sounded less powerful.
As he said, ‘We owe a great debt of gratitude to ourveterans” Ryan had great vocal emphasison the word great.  His paralanguage and facial expression were in synch the statement waswarm wonderful and powerful.

Ryan’s downward pinch gesture not strong enough whentalking about deaths at embassy.Biden’s Response, “That’s a bunch of Malarkey.” Great vocal power, deep baritone. Soundslike the ALPHA.   He gestures again withthe pointed finger and pen. I think this was a coached gesture to make himlook more forceful and unapologetic. Biden had strong, downward sweeping gestures. As he rebutted on security.Very strong.
Ryan’s response to question about soldiers burning andurinating -  He hesitated vocally and did not answer strongly and forcefully. Hisbody didn’t go forward nor did he gesture strongly enough. I think the wordurinate affected his ability to repeat the question. (a technique to respondin debates to give him time.)

Ryan, now he is stronger on watered down sanctions.
Biden is interestinghe his look of incredulous Think this technique of looking and speaking inresponse to Ryan’s answer is
Great hands together as he talks about the inability tocreate nuclear weapon.
Biden gave strong downward striking gesture, What the Iatolasees. We will not allow the
They don’t have a weapon to put it in. Great gestures socertain and sharp.Jobs,

Ryan is looking at Biden with interest he is taking notes (or faking notes)
Ohhh cool gesture of Biden
He is leaning forward Biden is moving. He is more forwardand certain in his response to question about Jobs.
Ryan does not respond well to Bidens interruption of hiscomment about jobs. Ryan pulls his  headback, mouth goes puckered and nose wrinkles and sniffs.  His pinched point down gesture again is notpowerful enough. Biden is very strong, He sounds credible because hisgestures and movement and expressions are feel show say.  The expansive gestures and movement. andloudness of his voice, movement and face make him look and sound morepassionate than Ryan. Actually passionate rather than Ryan's clipped speech andquick little movements are more left brain and logical. Biden  sounds and looks like someone who will getthings done. How many of his gestures strike downward after each of Ryan’s responses.  Remember debates are a battle and Biden's symbolic fighting gestures are working. They make  us feel he is successfully beating Ryan down.

Ryan is doing the same pointed gesture. It fits him but itis not strong enough to us visually.
Biden as he says, “Any senior out there"   Biden looks directly at thecamera and reaches out and gestures to them. (places the grey hair to dark hairin debaters)
Also plays to camera using his favorite phrase, “Folkslisten.”
“Mr. Vice President, Mr. Vice President",  Ryan looked directlyat Biden, his eyebrows furrowed in anger, he gestured in attack, but his voicewas not strong enough.  Ryan’s gestureand forward movement was not strong enough. He actually honored and respected Biden, just a bit too much. Howinteresting.  Again. Biden looks withdisrespect giving a tongue thrust (quick sticking out of tongue) at Ryan.

Tax cuts –Ryan is now doing well in his response.  He is really comfortable with this topic. Hiscontrolled gestures here work.  He usesdifferent gestures and they are larger and come down and up farther and moreconfidently and his body lifts up in confidence. ( We move up when we feelpositive and or strongly about something.) He is sweeping out his hand a bit, using his pen like Biden did.  His voiceis calm. His nonverbal sounds reasonable.

When Ryan tries to take on Biden directly talking Kennedyhere he does not win.
By the way the moderator is doing a really great job here.Love how strong she looks. She leans in and raises her voice. Defense.

Ryan  does a good job here initially as he answersthe question. But look at his hands when Biden responds and disagrees with him.Ryan pulls inward and gets smaller. Look as he goes still he holds his hands ina formal hands resting pointed towards each other on the table. That is acentering formal hand position. Again probably coached, but I would havecoached him to spread his hands slightly so he looks centered but stronger.  Not looking “smaller” compared to Biden.  Ryan is again being respectful. He has towalk a fine line. This makes his job harder.
Ohh finally Ryan is looking at Biden as he talks but now hisexpression has changed. He frowns and brings his head down slightly in a freezeframe of head shake now.
Taliban,
Biden does his first raised arms up and folds his handstogether. This move shows he feels the need to pull back on his internal desireto attack. But interesting as he raises his arms and folds he strikesmomentarily at Martha the moderator.
Fighting Season, Warm months.
One of the big if not the biggest moment in the debate, theBig moment, that will be in the headlines tomorrow when anyone discusses thevice presidential debate. Big battle about Afghan troops replacing our troops. Most real anger if you look at micro facial cues (I see when I look at videoyou see Biden snarl and bar his teeth as seen in any political debate.)
I am noticing that I am disconnected. I want to stop payingattention when Ryan gives his long answers without enough vocal variation andnot enough movement.
Faith, Abortion. Ryan delivers the Bean (his first baby)story very well. He gets to smile he gets to look warm and emotional as hetalks about his daughter.
Biden, “My religion defines who I am.” First time he getschoked up for the first time. We hear the stress in his voice. His voice goes into a stage whisper.
Ryan abortion.  Catholic church. When Biden interrupts him Ryan thrust out his tongue, straight out and full.  His head movesafter. He is ruffled. Ryan does not hold his ground nonverbally.
Biden, “ We only have one true sacred obligation…”
Biden’s only really big smile(in derision) that I havenoticed thus far in the debate is as he discusses the “scurrilous..” big moneydoing scurrilous things in the campaign.  Interesting.
Ryan at 10:00 is giving a really strong close. He is finallymaking intense focused eye contact with the Moderator. I would like him to giveto the camera.
Biden’s near close showing voice strain and face and bodyshows exhaustion gestures getting smaller. Body gets smaller and more still.
Ryan’s response to question to How you would as a humanbeing is
We believe you grow the country with the middle class hedoes a fantastic illustrator gesture as he says. “Middle out top down.”
That’s what this is about great
Ryan,  as he closes.Does great as he begins, looking at the camera as he says, “We face a reallybig choice. “ But watch his mouth he is not sure of himself his mouth He givesthis odd forced tight smile as he ends a sentence. Most obviously on his lastline. Looked weak and insincere. If you were just listening not watching hisbody language it would have seemed strong.
I would love to give you insight on the wives but was busylooking at Biden and Ryan. Interesting,  Bidenwanted to end the family time and say goodbye to Ryan. Biden shoulders are downhis movements are slower he looks tired and we can look and compare that withthe activity and energy around Ryan. Ryan is leaning over to warmly engage family. Ryan is finally getting tosmile in a more sincere way. The smile is longer and goes “up to his eyes.”Ryan, like Romney at the end of the Presidential debate has more energy andlove around him. He has so many family members around saying goodbye to him. Biden goes to saygoodbye, but Ryan’s back is to him.

Another big video slice that will bediscussed in the news.  One small thing. Ryan’s little boy not going up out ofthe chair when Ryan pulls him.  Ryan’sson not quickly looking at his father as he approached. Instead stayinghunkered down in the chair and smiling to the cameras, makes Ryan look lesspowerful than his little boy.  I amappalled at this behavior in his son. I think viewers might ask what is this? How can a child  being so attentionseeking and disrespectful.  Obama’sdaughter did this at the Democratic convention, now this. If a president and avice presidential candidate can’t get respect and attention from theirchildren what hope do we have in their abllity to lead us or hold or gainour respect.

Kimberley Strassel: Mr. Romney, Trust Your Pants

To contact us Click HERE
Obama tells Americans the terrible things the Republican will do to them. The Republican remains silent about what he would do.

(By Kimberley Strassel, Wall Street Journal) -
In the classic 1968 film "Once Upon a Time in the West," a villainous Henry Fonda shoots one of his lackeys, in part for the sin of wearing both a belt and suspenders. How do you trust a man, muses Fonda, who "can't even trust his own pants?"

Mitt Romney is slipping in the polls because, when it comes to his own policies, he is once again wearing a belt, suspenders, and even some elasticized waistbands. The bold Romney who picked Paul Ryan as a catalyst to run on ideas has been ousted by the return of the careful Romney who wants this race to be about Barack Obama. And America is unwilling to trust a man who seems unwilling to trust his own agenda.

The re-emergence of the well-belted Romney began at the GOP convention, where he delivered a speech that had been pared away to nothing but a fleeting reference to his policies. It was on vivid display, too, in Mr. Romney's Sunday appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press," in which he managed to use 30 minutes of prime time to talk mainly of flotsam, as well as (news flash!) how bad Mr. Obama had made the economy.

Joe Scarborough: It's Actually Romney's Fault That The Mainstream Media Is Not Doing Its Job

(The Hope For America) - You gotta love this one.

On 'Morning Joe' this morning, the neutered, chickified moderate (as Rush calls him) Joe Scarborough basically admitted that the lamestream media didn't properly cover Libyan security failures.

Oh, but it didn't stop there. He had to blame someone for the media's irresponsible behavior.

He blamed Mitt Romney.

That's right. It's Mitt Romney's fault that the media didn't do its job. This according to Joe Scarborough.

Liberal super PAC: Calling Republicans racist more effective than criticizing policy

(By Alex Pappas, The Daily Caller) - A top official at a liberal super PAC with the goal of eradicating tea partiers from Congress is telling activists that it’s more effective to label Republicans as racists than criticize their policies.

According to an audio recording obtained by The Daily Caller, Matthew “Mudcat” Arnold, the national campaign manager of the liberal CREDO super PAC, told a gathering of supporters in Aurora, Colo., on Sept. 8 that they’ve realized “policy did not move voters.”

He used Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King as an example.

“When we said that Steve King … is pro-life and believes in cutting Social Security and voted for the Ryan budget, no one cared,” Arnold said. “When we said Steve King’s a racist, Steve King believes that immigrants ought to be put in electric fences, people moved.”

Obama eCard for Women: 'Can I Borrow $18,000 to Help Pay for My Birth Control?'

(BY DANIEL HALPER, The Weekly Standard) - The Obama campaign has created a series of electronic greeting card aimed at women voters. "President Obama summed up the Republican Party’s approach to women’s health when he said 'they want to take us back to the policies more suited to the 1950s than the 21st century,'" the Obama campaign website reads: "Send an eCard to say you won’t go back." Perhaps the oddest card in the series, though, is this one...

A Look at @ChuckTodd and Conspiratorial Media Incest

To contact us Click HERE
(By Erick Erickson, Red State) - I got a great laugh out of this Chuck Todd near meltdown on 'Meet the Depressed' the other day. His voice quivered in moral outrage over Jack Welch suggesting something was up with the unemployment numbers last Friday. Chuck Todd proclaimed, “What we’re doing, we’re corroding trust in our government in a way, and one time responsible people are doing to control it. And the idea that Donald Trump and Jack Welch, rich people with crazy conspiracy, can get traction on this, is a bad trend.” He really does not get it. Chuck Todd reflects most of the media not getting it. As ratings decline, newspaper fold, and they all scream about how biased Fox News is, they do not get it.

Robert makes a joke, he comfortshim, does a head protection comfort cue head scratch.  He doesn’t like what’s going on hand over thegroin to partial fig leaf protection. He’s given a cereal box and he has fun for a moment.  His body language is playful. Then he putsboth hands in his lap like a school boy about to be reprimanded.

How are you doing, “
He does an avoidance cluster of cues, his body turnsaway, he goes for the coffee and you see a micro facial cue of sadness he looksdown and eyes partially closed and down.
Then he hand blocks with coffee instead of grabbing thehandle so he tries to cover his mouth and curls and presses in his lips tosuppress what he is really feeling, a mixture of sadness in his eyes and angerat the mouth. As he puts down the cup the anger cluster is emphasized with atongue thrust that says I am mad at you for asking that question ‘He says, “Imean…pauses he shakes his head no, he shakes again not just his head but hiswhole body. He avoids the question looking at his fans. They seem prettyexcited about it.  And he laughs, thistime his head comes down and the laugh and smile show an effort to reducetension, (laughter and anger cover deception or withholding of information) I can see where this works for him.  His next laugh brings his body up out of hisseat as if he wants to escape or this gives him the chance to escape.  He sits back in the chair relaxes and crosseshis legs. He is ready to be there.
Whatdrew you to this role?  Look at the dramatic shift to centered stillbody relaxed voice. And though he does another head scratch when they come backto him after showing the suggestive sex scene, he follows it with a flirtyshowing of the palm and impish grin. And now when he laughs he comes morenaturally up and out of his chair.
ShowBizTonight Interview Asked“So how are you doing” Look at the immediate cluster of withdrawal avoidancemixed with forced attention cues He lowers his head and shutters his eye, holds his own hand, and comforts whipping off the sweat move. Then forces hiseyes wide to pretend he’s paying attention. “Becausethe world wants to know?He leans over to get his coffee and goesoff camera.    He uses the coffee cup as a shield betweenhimself and the interviewer. Then does a tongue cleanse to clean off how he istruly feeling then says in a low stressed voice, “Yeah” gives the host an microfacial cue of awkward smiling grimace showing he’s mad he has to answer thisquestion. Then laughs but look and listen to the laugh - characteristic awardlaugh but more forced. One with a tighter throat and vocal chords and insteadof the head going up as it usually would in a laugh his head moves swiftlydown. And then grabs the outside of the cup swinging his body again away fromthe interviewer to block and  brings thecoffee cup way up to cover as much of his face as possible and again used the exaggeratedopen eyes to show that he is ok and only gives a sideways glance to theinterviewer.“Difficultto hear all the reporting about you” he actually brings his browstogether in slight scowl.“Reportsabout you drinking” he does his fast blink (the only fast blinkthus far in the interview.) Wallowing in misery …but you lookabsolutely fine,  “He gives another forced laugh bringing his head down. And he does almost asnarl smile closing his eyes and turning his head away. Then he looks at the directory.  He says, “Since the first twilight.” And bringshis whole hand up in a nose cleanse all the fingers whipping under his nose notonce not twice but three times as he says, “you enter a realm where you get”  Interesting the look to the director helps then thedirectory visibly comforts him he gets comforted by the director then once thedirector starts speaking Robert begins to relax he is still using the cup.“Do you just laugh it off. “  He gets a sour face and looks down again andmakes an audible tongue cleanse, looks away scowls a bit.Patti Wood, MA, Certified Speaking Professional - The Body Language Expert.
